Buying The Right Christmas Gifts

Gift Giving

I find there are some people that are just natural gift givers that seem to connect with exactly what that person needs or wants no matter the budget.

Then there are people that purchase the same box of chocolates for everyone. Or the person who buys the little turtle figurines because you said once, in 1998 that you liked turtles.

An in between method is thinking through how you can enhance their world just a little bit - and while I am a massive fan of chocolate it is not the enhancement I am talking about.

How Do We Do It?

Ask Them What They Want

I know this is simple enough. I asked several teachers what their preferred gifts are - wine and gift cards for local vendors or restaurants ranked high on their list.

Make Note

I try to keep an ear out for ideas and suggestions during the year. I have an open ‘Notes’ document on my phone to create a personalized list of options for the significant people in my life.

Life Skills and Caffeine

I know I am biassed, but honestly pairing skills (such as a Cup of Mindfulness) and delicious coffee (hot chocolate, wine) seems like the perfect gift for anyone, but especially the career loving parent.
