How to Enjoy the Holidays
How to Make the Most of Christmas
With all the stressors we’ve gone through, and whatever else is going on in your life, we want to make sure we actually enjoy the holidays! Have fun, slow down to enjoy the moments, capture what really matters and let everything else role off your shoulders. Here are some things that can help.
Reflect on what really matters to you over the holidays.
When we stop to think about what is truly important, it does not always align with how we are spending our time, energy and effort. Be clear on what you care about and what you should prioritize. It can help some of the stress drip away and ensure we are present for the things that truly matter.
Move. Get outside. Play.
Sometimes we get so wrapped up in what needs to be done. We need to do what makes us feel good (notice I could say limit your sweets but going outside to play after is just so much more fun!)
Connect, a lot, with people who light you up, make you laugh and generally fills your soul.
While there will be office parties, extended family gatherings. Depending on relationships, these can be a drain or a charge. Make sure to make a lot of time for the people who charge you.
Do what you loved to do over the holidays as a kid.
Did you love to go sledding? Skating? Make a fort and watch holiday movies? Snowman engineer? Whatever it was - do it.
